Riding on the beach gives a sense of freedom and there is no better way to explore, enjoy and appreciate the South African coast than on a fatbike.

Lambert’s Bay is the start and end location for Tour de Weskus and marks the half way point of the tour. Starting and ending here makes it possible to change cycling direction depending on the predominant wind direction of the day promising a more enjoyable day.  

Lambert’s Bay is a small fishing town in the Western Cape province of South Africa situated 280 kilometres north of Cape Town. The coast town has been proclaimed ‘the Diamond of the West Coast’ because of its white beaches, wildlife and lobsters.

Day 1 :  Doringbaai – Lambert’s Bay

The tour departs around 9:00 in either Doringbaai or Lambert’s bay depending on the wind direction which is determined the day before the tour. Cycling with the wind in your back is just much more fun!

The tour follows the beach and riders can expect to see an abundance of sea and bird life. White beaches and interesting coastal features ensures that there is never a dull moment as scenery changes quickly.

Lunch is served along the route.

Day 2 :  Lambert’s Bay – Eland’s Bay

Amazing rock formations, wide open spaces, fresh air, white beaches and one of the world best waves are all scenes to be encountered during this section of the tour.
